Taking Learning Media Production and Learning Innovation to the Next Level of Engagement

I managed and ran all of the projects (with the exception of personal student projects) that came through the lab. The S.I.M. Lab serviced almost every different department in the university, with the focus being on Academics. Virtual Reality Development, Game Development, Interactive Media Development, Music Design and Audio Recording, along with a complete video production studio was just the tip of the iceberg. But the best part of the lab? The learners.

The S.I.M. Lab was an instrumental part of two of the largest events for the university, those being The Game Expo and Florida PolyCon (click to see).

Here's a few photos that run through the first 8 years of Florida Polytechnic University. I was there from the very beginning, building and innovating for the SME's, staff and students. An incredible experience in which I met some incredible people. Building a university is hard, but we played hard too.

Learning Schematics

In order to lead a team, you have to have a plan. Visualizing is a critical path towards developing a learning strategy that works. I work in various tools, but ultimately, having a tool that both gets attention and delivers all the information and structure your team needs in order to implement is key.

Instructional Designer

This was a very edifying course in that the real world experiences that I had for years were acknowledged as being commonplace amongst the field. Here I thought all the weirdness of instructional design and learning technology just existed in my world.

I enjoy utilizing backward design, practical application simulation, interactive video development, role playing, gamification, innovative quizzes and more.

I'm open to new ideas, but aware of the pitfalls that they may incur. Always open to advice, but sharply aware of how to produce results.

How is building a course or defining a method of communication or invention of some new innovative thing the same? Getting there takes the appropriate amount of efficient planning, which is where my LEAN SIX SIGMA certification comes in.
